Intercultural Training

On 28 November 2025, the intercultural workshop “Intercultural Training – Dealing with Japanese Colleagues and Project Partners”, conducted by Prof. Dr. Harald Conrad (Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf), took place at the Junior Professorship of Multi-scale Modeling of Heterogeneous Catalysis in Energy Systems (MoDeS), RWTH Aachen University. The workshop provided participants with practical insights into Japanese professional culture and collaboration practices.

Key topics included cultural concepts and processes, decision-making structures, communication patterns, negotiation behavior, and the role of hierarchy and group dynamics in Japanese organizations. The session also addressed business etiquette, management principles, and the importance of apologies in professional interactions, offering valuable guidance for effective cooperation with Japanese colleagues and project partners.
